July's summer days encourage us to embrace the heat and find new ways to cool off. The Aleppo pepper can be added to poultry, vegetables, and even yogurt to take the heat on a new journey. 

About the Program

The Spice of the Month Take and Make is your passport to global flavors.

Each monthly kit includes:

  • A small packet of the featured spice blend (enough for two recipes).
  • Easy recipe cards to try at home.
  • A brief history and cultural context of the spice.
  • Suggested books for further exploration.

Registration is preferred. Kits will be available while supplies last, registration secures a kit for you. 

July's Recipes

  • Aleppo Pepper Chicken: Marinate chicken thighs in yogurt, Aleppo pepper, and garlic, then grill or roast.

  • Yogurt Dip with Aleppo Pepper: Mix Greek yogurt with lemon juice, minced garlic, and Aleppo pepper for a versatile dip.
