About the Program

The Spice of the Month Take and Make is your passport to global flavors.

Each monthly kit includes:

  • A small packet of the featured spice blend (enough for two recipes).
  • Easy recipe cards to try at home.
  • A brief history and cultural context of the spice.
  • Suggested books for further exploration.

Registration is preferred. Kits will be available while supplies last, registration secures a kit for you. 

August's Recipes

  • Lemon Pepper Shrimp: Sauté shrimp with butter, garlic, and lemon pepper seasoning, then serve over rice.

  • Caribbean Citrus Salad: Combine oranges, grapefruit, and avocado slices, then sprinkle with lemon pepper and olive oil.
