Railroad Movie Night

Railroad Movie Night In-Person

Come join us for a look back in history, as we watch the classic film Kansas Pacific.

Did you know? When the railroad tracks were built to Erie in 1871, we were still the Colorado Territory. The Denver and Boulder Valley Railroad was a subsidiary of the Denver Pacific and Kansas Pacific partnership. The first locomotive that steamed into Erie was the DH Moffat, a KP locomotive on loan to the Denver Pacific railroad.

Kansas Pacific is a classic 1953 movie that is loosely based on the push to build the rails west through Kansas to Colorado. Starring Sterling Hayden and Eve Miller and the famous Sierra #3 locomotive. Bob Rummer of Colorado Railbike Adventures will present the true story of the Kansas Pacific in Erie and then roll the movie for an evening of fun.
