Paws to Read
Paws to Read is back and better than ever! We welcome early readers ages 5+ to join one of our four-legged, furry friends for a reading session! Your child will be able to read for approximately 15-20 minutes to a certified therapy dog from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). Studies have shown that when a child reads to a dog they experience an increase in self-confidence, specifically related to their reading ability, and improved reading skills, specifically fluency.
We do not require registration for this program. Your early readers can drop in any time between 1:30pm-2:30pm (we will stop reading at 3pm). This special program is held the 3rd Saturday of each month. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
* For the safety of your child and comfort of the dogs, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 5, including younger siblings. Thank you for understanding.
