Guided Bird Walk at Sandstone Ranch In-Person
Discover the wonderful world of birdwatching with a guided bird walk led by Denver Audubon Master Birder, Jamie Simo.
Jamie will help us spot and identify birds during an early morning stroll on a trail at Sandstone Ranch in Longmont.
This delightful 1-mile gravel hiking trail, featuring a 200 ft. elevation gain, traverses native prairie inhabited by Lark Sparrow and Say’s Phoebe. A portion of the trail, close to the river, runs beneath sandstone bluffs, where Barn Owls sometimes roost, and alongside a forested area that provides an excellent opportunity to spot House Wren, Warbling Vireo, and Bullock’s Oriole.
We will meet at 8 am at the Upper Parking Lot.
Hats and sunblock are recommended. Please bring binoculars if you have them.
