Paws to Read
Paws to Read is now part of Family Fun Lab! We welcome early readers ages 5+ to join one of our four-legged, furry friends for a reading session! Your child will be able to read for approximately 15 minutes to a certified therapy dog from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). Studies have shown that when a child reads to a dog they experience an increase in self-confidence, specifically related to their reading ability, and improved reading skills, specifically fluency.
We do not require registration for this program. We are incorporating our therapy dogs into our Family Fun Lab after-school program on the Third Thursday of each month.
* For the safety of your child and comfort of the dogs, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 5, including younger siblings. Thank you for understanding.
